Your Running, Walking, Jogging Must Have Safety Gear

The Wrist Saver, is your go to safety gear while you’re out on a long training run or just walking around the park.

It’s light weight, durable and most of all, packs some butt kicking power in a 1/2 ounce bottle of pepper spray. Just point and blast your attacker and you’ll have plenty of time to get away. They’ll think twice on attacking someone with a Wrist Saver again.

Some Great Safety Tips While Your Out Walking

  • Keep the Volume Down: Don’t drown out your environment with your iPod. Keep the volume at a level where you can still hear bike bells and warnings from other walkers and runners.
  • Hang Up and Eyes Up: Chatting or texting on a mobile device while you walk is as dangerous as doing those things while driving. You are distracted and not as aware of your environment. You are less likely to recognize traffic danger, passing joggers and bikers or tripping hazards. Potential criminals see you as a distracted easy target.
  • Choose your walking route for paths frequented by other walkers, joggers and bikers. If you see someone suspicious, be prepared to alter your course or go in to a store or public building to avoid them. Acting alert and aware can convince bad guys to choose an easier target.

Chicruner Wrist Saver Pepper Spray Review:

My new awesome pepper spray

So I’m pretty stoked about this pepper spray. Weird to say that, but yea, this is probably the most brilliant idea ever. B had gotten me a large pepper spray to run with not that long before I got this one, but I love how this one goes on my wrist on a little velcro strap! It is by Personal Savers Pepper Spray and I wanted to do a little review of it, since I love it and it’s going to be getting darker earlier so it helps with my sense of safety. It also has a little pocket for a little form of ID.

I always wear it facing outwards so that in case I need to use it (hopefully not), it’s in a position to spray outward instead of at me. I like how it’s there and I know how to flip the little cap on the top to make it work easily. Another feature I like is the fact that it has somewhat of a safety switch to make sure it’s not going to go off if I accidentally press it while out running. Thank goodness, or I’m sure I would pepper spray myself 🙁

Here’s a view of how it looks on the outside, this is the side that faces outwards when I run. It has a tight little ‘pocket’ to hold it and it doesn’t move at all.

Don’t I look happy after my run! Ha ha, here’s another look at how it looks from the outside when I run as well. It’s a decent sized bottle of pepper spray as well. Once you flip the little switch on the top, it’s ready to go! Which I like. It’s a neoprene fabric which is nice because it doesn’t get too hot and it also is safe to carry in the rain.

Here’s the top ‘switch’. Once you turn it too the right, it will be ready for spray, but it stays in the ‘lock’ position unless you need to use it. Boom. Easy to use, nothing to worry about, and even a klutz like me can’t mess it up! I use it while running all the time and it gives me that extra sense of safety when it’s dark out. Especially lately, there have been coyotes spotted in our neighborhood. Strange because we live in a super suburban area, but I guess they are overpopulated right now. Anyways, when I run with George early in the morning, I feel like I have a coyote snack on the end of my leash, so it makes me feel safe about being able to save him as well, which hopefully we never encounter anything like that!

After looking at the Personal Savers Pepper Spray website, I found out it comes in two different sizes and they are very well priced, only $12.95 for the regular one, and 14.95 for the pink one! I would totally recommend this pepper spray as the time is going to be changing soon and it’s always important to be safe and make sure you are prepared for anything!

Wrist Saver Pepper Spray - Women's Safety At NightWrist Saver Pepper Spray

The Wrist Saver pepper spray unit, is not all about carrying pepper spray.  Running last night on the country roads of Indiana, the Wrist Saver saved me from oncoming cars knocking me into the ditch countless times.

With short days in the fall and winter, we almost have no choice but to workout at night.  The Wrist Saver’s super bright LED light, which can been seen from almost a mile away, is a life saver.  Whether it’s oncoming cars or cars pulling out of a parking lot, the drivers really focus on the light as you swing your arm forward.  A very nice complement to the LED light, is the highly reflective edging.

 So, Running At Night?

Make sure to consider the Wrist Saver.  It’s a great addition to your nightly workout gear by keeping you safe by being seen while you’re running, walking or jogging  at night.

Women’s Safety Tips – Pepper Spray

Pepper Spray for Womens Safety

Women’s Saftey Tips & Pepper Spray

In today’s unsafe world, when crimes and violence are on a rise, no one is protected or completely safe and secure. Threats to life have increased many folds. Women especially are the main victims of these types of threats when it comes to travelling alone in a public transportation or simply walking alone on a platform. Eve teasing, sexual harassment, rape, and other crimes reports have been increasing. They are even the main target for domestic violence. According to a statistical report of the United Nations, over 250,000 cases of male-female rape or attempted rape were recorded by police annually. According to another statistics, 1 out of every 4 women across the world is the victims of rape and sexual assault.

For this reason, measures for personal safety are a must if you want to remain protected from any kind of invisible threat. Women are very delicate creatures but when it comes to their personal safety, they need to get stronger.

Vigilance is a key to protection. While travelling alone, women should be vigilant and make sure that nobody is eying them or following them. If they suspect anybody doing so, they should immediately get ready with their pepper spray. Pepper sprays are handy and are must for every woman. The use of these sprays has increased a lot in the recent times which clearly shows the vigilance of the women for personal safety. A pepper spray disorients the attacker and gives you enough time to run away to a safe place and call for a help. Personal alarms are also very helpful in confusing the assailant.

Another important thing to be kept in mind is that women should not roam alone in the secluded areas like subways or car parking. Also for jogging or morning walk, they should prefer the path where group of people can be seen around. If possible, they can carry pencils, scissors or even rolled newspapers which acts as good weapons against the attackers. Set the number of police at speed dial on your cell phone. If you are caught in any danger when you don’t have anything, scream at the top of your voice. This is the best and most effective measure of defence.

Grizzly No Match for Jack Hanna, Pepper Spray

We thought this was a interesting article.   Grab  your Cycle Saver for moutain biking or Personal Saver or Wrist Saver for hiking today!

So maybe most of us won’t be accompanied by an expert wildlife handler when we go exploring in the woods. But we can
learn something from Jack Hanna–– carry pepper spray!

Last Saturday, Hanna, his wife and a few others were hiking
through Montana’s Glacier National Park when they spotted a mother
bear and two cubs. The grizzly family began to approach the group, but Hanna
expertly guided them to talk loudly and back up.

The mother and one cub passed by finally. But the other youngin’ wasn’t
having any guests. Before they knew it 125 lbs of bear cub was barreling down
upon them.

“At about 30 feet, I unload my pepper spray, and the wind takes it,” he told
The Columbus Dispatch in
his characteristically dramatic style.

Oh, but the bear wasn’t scared.

“Then I unload the second spray,” he said.

Alas, the bear keeps coming.

“Then the third time I unload that pepper spray right in his face.”
Finally!

Hanna claims he’s carried pepper spray for the past 15 years, just for
reasons like this, but has never had to use it. Ironically, too, he had just
filmed a public service announcement encouraging people to protect themselves by
carrying pepper spray rather than guns, even though the latter is now allowed in
national parks.

Even if he were to carry a gun, he thinks it would have been a pretty tough
feat to take the bear down with a firearm.

“There’s no way I could hit that bear with a gun,” Hanna said.

So pepper spray is the way. Good thing he took his own advice

The skinny on the WRIST SAVER

Posted on April 20th, 2011

Share this posting, you could help save a life, some day.

The Wrist Saver is a great way to give yourself that added self protection while doing your favorite activities such as:wrist saver, jogging, pepper spray, self defense, walking, running
–          Running
–          Jogging
–          Hiking
–          Inline Skating / Rollerblading
–          Walking
–          Walking your dog
–          Crossing college campus

The Wrist Saver pepper spray product was designed to be very compact, light weight and comfortable.  It was originally designed when owners Derek Downing and Chad Smith inline skated professionally and needed some added protection out on the open roads training from crazy motorists and stray dogs that nipped at their skates.

Back in the early days the Wrist Saver was a simple elastic band with a loop to hold the bottle of pepper spray.  The Wrist Saver today has now evolved into a much more useful piece of personal safety equipment.  Besides the original idea of having a wrist band that holds a small bottle of pepper spray, it now features:
–          ½ oz. Bottle of OC pepper spray.
–          Highly reflective edging, that’s around the entire band.
–          LED Light, so that car oncoming cars and cars pulling out of parking lots can see you.
–          Personal Emergency ID card that can hold all your vital emergency information in case the unthinkable happens.
–          A very comfortable and light weight neoprene wrist band with Velcro hook and loop ends to adjust it to your own wrist size.

The Wrist Saver has become a complete safety product for the active person.  You could say it’s the Swiss Army knife of workout safety.

Wearing the Wrist Saver is a great way for the average person to be able to defend themselves against any attacker.  Personal defense classes are fine but let’s face it, not all of us are Chuck Norris.  The pepper spray bottle can be removed fast and easy, so you can spray the attacker quick and effortlessly.  You can be up to 8-10 feet away, so no need to whip out your fighting skills.  Once the attacker is sprayed, he’ll be stained by the pepper spray dye and be incapacitated for up to 45 minutes.  This will give you plenty of time to get away to safe and secure location.

There’s no need to be afraid of:wrist saver, jogging, pepper spray, self defense, walking, running
–          Working Out By Yourself
–          Park & Trail Muggings
–          Aggressive Dogs
–          Unruly Motorists
–          Bad Neighborhoods
–          Going Out At Night
–          Walking To Your Car
–          Working Out By Yourself

We’ve worked really hard to keep the price very affordable for everyone out there.  For the cost of a few gallons of gas, you can purchase a Wrist Saver that could save your life.  You can always purchase a Wrist Saver from our online store by clicking HERE.

About Personal Savers

The idea for Personal Savers was born in 1995 by Derek Downing and Chad Smith, two national and world champion professional inline speed skaters. While training on the open roads in Georgia, they always came across unruly drivers and stray dogs nipping at their feet. Derek's father David Downing owned an in house pepper spray business that sold to police forces worldwide which helped spark the idea of the original Wrist Saver.

The original Wrist Saver was a crude version of itself today but the concept to keep people safe while being active was born. That idea grew into an actual company, but with the strains of traveling for competitions the business was put on hold...
