Cycle Saver Pepper SprayHandlebar Pepper Spray Mount

After years of experience using cycling as a training tool to help national and world inline skating champions and Personal Savers founders, Chad Smith and Derek Downing train.  They came up with a sleek way to mount a pepper spray bottle to a bikes handlebars.  Just like skating, when they were riding their bikes, they had dogs nipping at their feet and always came across unruly motorist.

Being defenseless out on a country road is something every cyclist, would like to avoid.  When your out pedaling away with nothing to defend yourself with, you may decide to take an alternate route or go back from which you came.  With the Cycle Saver, pepper spray for biking, you don’t have to defenseless any longer.

The Cycle Saver was designed to be used by hardcore cyclists and recreation bikers with its low weight and out of the way mounting position.

The Cycle Saver pepper spray uses a simple plastic mounting system for your handlebars.  The U shaped mount, lets the ½ oz pepper spray bottle snap in between the U for an easy snap in, snap out system.  The U shaped mount lets you quickly and easily grab the pepper spray bottle to spray any dog or violent motorist.  Once you use the pepper spray, you snap it back and be on your way, while the attacker is incapacitated.

The ½ oz bottle of pepper spray shoots in a ballistic stream, so it will help you take aim on your bike. The pepper spray fans out, so your able to hit the dog or attacker right where you want to.  We do suggest that you dismount off your bike first, so not to crash while you’re shooting the spray.

Buy Pepper Spray For WomenPersonal Savers Pepper Spray Booth At The Georgia Marathon Expo

I know this is a few weeks past but we wanted to share some photos with our customers of the Georgia Marathon Expo.  The expo was a huge success for Personal Savers with reaching over 15,000 people and educating everyone on pepper spray and personal safety while working out.

Women’s safety was a big topic of discussion throughout the expo.  Giving women a way to defend themselves from an attacker for such a lowest cost, was a big hit with economy being slow.

We would like thank everyone who stopped by and purchased a Wrist Saver, Personal Saver or Cycle Saver or simply just wanted to chat about safety and running.  We look forward to seeing everyone at the expo next year.

The question always is…Where Can I Buy Pepper Spray?

CYCLE SAVERS – PEPPER SPRAY FOR BIKES – CONQUERED THE DIRTY DUATHLON

This past weekend Personal Savers owners Chad Smith and Derek Downing tackled the Blankets Creek Dirty Duathlon in Canton, Georgia.  The Duathlon was a 5 mile trail run combined with a 11 mile mountain bike ride throughout the Blankets Creek trail system.   Chad and Derek completed the course with their Cycle Savers securely fastened and ready to use (but did not use them in the race).   Even the jagged rocks, slipper roots and crazy downhills couldn’t knock the Cycle Saver pepper spray bottle out of the mount.

This was the first event that the new line of Pink Personal Savers pepper spray products were on display.  There was a lot of interest in the new line along with cyclist picking up Cycle Saver pepper spray units for their bikes at the booth.

Mountain Goat Adventures, who put on the race handed out 40 Cycle Savers to all the top women finishers.  That means, there’s 40 more women who are safer out on the trails and road with the new Cycle Saver.   So, watch out attackers.

Overall, it was great event and we would like to thank all the bikers, spectators and Mountain Goat Adventures for stoCycle Saver Pepper Spray For Bikingpping by the booth and putting on a great cycling event.

Great Bicycle Safety Tips – A Must Read

Posted on December 9th, 2011

Share this posting, you could help save a life, some day.

Cycle Saver - Pepper Spray For BicyclingRecently we posted some very useful safety tips for running, walking and jogging.  Below are some GREAT bicycle safety tips.  On top of these tips, make sure to pick up your Cycle Saver pepper spray for added protection from all those unforeseen situations when you’re out on the road or trail.  Be safe and fun out on your next bike ride.

That means bicyclists must obey the rules of the road like drivers of any other vehicle and must be treated as equal users by all other vehicles.

The best way to avoid collisions is to be prepared and be aware of other vehicles around you. Avoid common bicyclist errors and common motorist errors committed around bicyclists.

Here are some safety tips for biking:

  1. Obey traffic signs and signals – Bicycles must follow the rules of the road like other vehicles.
  2. Never ride against traffic – Motorists aren’t looking for bicyclists riding on the wrong side of the road. State law and common sense require that bicyclists drive like other vehicles.
  3. Follow lane markings – Don’t turn left from the right lane. Don’t go straight in a lane marked “right-turn only.”
  4. Don’t pass on the right – Motorists may not look for or see a bicycle passing on the right.
  5. Scan the road behind you – Learn to look back over your shoulder without losing your balance or swerving. Some riders use rear-view mirrors.
  6. Keep both hands ready to brake – You may not stop in time if you brake one-handed. Allow extra distance for stopping in the rain, since breaks are less efficient when wet.
  7. Wear a helmet and never ride with headphones – Always wear a helmet. Never wear a headphone while riding a bike.
  8. Dress for the weather – In rain wear a poncho or waterproof suit. Dress in layers so you can adjust to temperature changes. Wear bright colored clothing.
  9. Use hand signals – Hand signals tell motorists and pedestrians what you intend to do. Signal as a matter of law, of courtesy, and of self-protection.
  10. Ride in the middle of the lane in slower traffic – Get in the middle of the lane at busy intersections and whenever you are moving at the same speed as traffic.
  11. Choose the best way to turn left – There are two choices: (1) Like an auto: signal to move into the left turn lane and then turn left. (2) Like a pedestrian: ride straight to the far side crosswalk. Walk your bike across.
  12. Make eye contact with drivers – Assume that other drivers don’t see you until you are sure that they do. Eye contact is important with any driver which might pose a threat to your safety.
  13. Look out for road hazards – Watch out for parallel-slat sewer grates, gravel, ice, sand or debris. Cross railroad tracks at right angles.
  14. Use lights at night – The law requires a white headlight (visible from at least 500 feet ahead) and a rear reflector or taillight (visible up to 300 feet from behind).
  15. Keep your bike in good repair – Adjust your bike to fit you and keep it working properly. Check brakes and tires regularly. Routine maintenance is simple and you can learn to do it yourself.

Grizzly No Match for Jack Hanna, Pepper Spray

Posted on November 22nd, 2011

Share this posting, you could help save a life, some day.

We thought this was a interesting article.   Grab  your Cycle Saver for moutain biking or Personal Saver or Wrist Saver for hiking today!

So maybe most of us won’t be accompanied by an expert wildlife handler when we go exploring in the woods. But we can
learn something from Jack Hanna–– carry pepper spray!

Last Saturday, Hanna, his wife and a few others were hiking
through Montana’s Glacier National Park when they spotted a mother
bear and two cubs. The grizzly family began to approach the group, but Hanna
expertly guided them to talk loudly and back up.

The mother and one cub passed by finally. But the other youngin’ wasn’t
having any guests. Before they knew it 125 lbs of bear cub was barreling down
upon them.

“At about 30 feet, I unload my pepper spray, and the wind takes it,” he told
The Columbus Dispatch in
his characteristically dramatic style.

Oh, but the bear wasn’t scared.

“Then I unload the second spray,” he said.

Alas, the bear keeps coming.

“Then the third time I unload that pepper spray right in his face.”
Finally!

Hanna claims he’s carried pepper spray for the past 15 years, just for
reasons like this, but has never had to use it. Ironically, too, he had just
filmed a public service announcement encouraging people to protect themselves by
carrying pepper spray rather than guns, even though the latter is now allowed in
national parks.

Even if he were to carry a gun, he thinks it would have been a pretty tough
feat to take the bear down with a firearm.

“There’s no way I could hit that bear with a gun,” Hanna said.

So pepper spray is the way. Good thing he took his own advice

pepper spray for bikingIf you were ever looking for pepper spray for biking, you’ve come to the right place.  The Cycle Saver is the number one bike pepper spray safety product out on the market today.  It was designed by top professional athletes that kept performance in mind.  The Cycle Saver mount is made up of a light weight ABS plastic and takes up a very limited amount of space, so it doesn’t hinder your riding performance.  We understand how cluttered your handlebars can get and space can be very tight.  That’s why the Cycle Saver mount is only ½ an inch wide and the clip is slim 1 inch.

Unlike other products out there, the Cycle Saver’s patented clip in, clip out system lets you easily and simply grab the pepper spray to spray your attacker quickly and efficiently.  There’s no fumbling around trying to pull your pepper spray from a tight strap system or trying to get it out of your jersey pocket.  The Cycle Saver is right there for convenience and safety.

Personal Savers pepper spray is the hottest on the market today.  Our ½ oz pepper spray bottle shoots a ballistic stream up to 10 feet away in as many as 10-20 short busts which keeps you at a safe distance from your attacker.

About Personal Savers

The idea for Personal Savers was born in 1995 by Derek Downing and Chad Smith, two national and world champion professional inline speed skaters. While training on the open roads in Georgia, they always came across unruly drivers and stray dogs nipping at their feet. Derek's father David Downing owned an in house pepper spray business that sold to police forces worldwide which helped spark the idea of the original Wrist Saver.

The original Wrist Saver was a crude version of itself today but the concept to keep people safe while being active was born. That idea grew into an actual company, but with the strains of traveling for competitions the business was put on hold...
